| The translation material is excerpted from The Psychology of Interpersonal Violence written by Clive R.Hollin.The book makes a comprehensive discussion on the causes of interpersonal violence from the psychological point of view,and puts forward some proposals to prevent and reduce the incidents of violence.The book,published in 2016,has not yet been translated into Chinese.There are six chapters in the book,and the translator selects the first chapter as the task of translation practice.This chapter details the meaning of interpersonal violence and the psychological model of interpersonal violence,analyzes the developmental factors of violent behavior by using longitudinal studies,and discusses the psychology of the attackers from the aspects of social cognition,attribution and emotion.The original work belongs to the field of psychology,involving a large number of professional terms and experimental studies,which is rigorous and professional.The translation is mainly based on domestication,supplemented by foreignization,and combined with various translation methods such as literal translation,free translation and parallel text comparison.The translator strives to be faithful to the original text and make the target language readers easy to understand.This report mainly consists of four parts.The first part is a brief description of the translation task,which includes the introduction of material source,the author of the book and significance of this topic.The second part is translation process,consisting of the preparation for translation,difficulties in the process of translation,text checking,polishing and finalization.The third part is case analysis.The translator analyzes a large number of examples from two aspects: lexical translation and syntax translation.The last part is the conclusion of the translation practice,summarizing the experience that translator has gained from the practice. |
