The term ‘learning autonomy' was firstly put forward by Holec in 1981,from which the conception of autonomy increasingly came into researchers' eyes.Many famous researchers began to study the issue and now they have got so much great research achievement.Cultivating students' learning autonomy is the first goal of the curriculum revolution;students' learning autonomy should be the ultimate goal of the English teaching and learning as well.However,now students' willingness and ability of learning autonomy are the purpose of learner insufficient,researches indicate that learner training is the very way to promote students' learning autonomy,the purpose of the learner training is to cultivate the learners who are independent and autonomous in their learning.Thus,this thesis aims to adopt the learner training to promote students' learning autonomy.At present,there is still a problem needed to be solved that the concerning research is defective and mainly focus on the theoretical research but how to apply these achievements in actual class in order to promote students to be autonomous in their learning is still.There is a great significance in studying learner training to promote students' learning autonomy.Thus,this thesis attaches importance to the following research questions based on the domestic and foreign instructions of the learner training.1.Can junior high school students' learning autonomy in English classroom be promoted after the learner training? 2.What is the experiential class students' attitude towards learning autonomy after the learner training?This thesis adopts a new learner training model based on the Scharle & Szabo(2000)'s training model which is admitted the very approach to promote learners' autonomy and to research the implementation of learner training in classroom to improve students' learning autonomy.The training model includes two stages: the preparation stage and the action stage.This research lasts eight weeks from September 2017 to October 2017 which is conducted with junior three 60 students in No.7 middle school in Dongxiang.And the participants are almost 15 years old.They have accepted the English education for three years in primary school.Research instruments include questionnaires,interviews,teachers' journals and students' dairies which are used to collect data in order to carry out the results analysis.The results analyzed from the collected data are presented as follows: 1.The learner training model is helpful to promote students' ability of learning autonomy and the students' ability has an improvement;2.After learner training,the experimental students' attitudes toward learning autonomy has an enhancement to some great extent.So,this research indicates that learner training model is a very way to promote students to be autonomous in their learning effectively.After the learner training,students gradually form their willingness and awareness of the learning autonomy,their ability of learning autonomy has a great enhancement,which is the positive feedback of students' learning autonomy that is brought by the learner training.Through the learning autonomy,students can determine their learning content,monitor their learning process and evaluate their learning process regularly.Students can not only learn the language autonomously,but also learn other subjects autonomously,which is meaningful in the future teaching and learning.
