This article mainly selects the representative works of the chapters novels in the Ming and Qing dynasties.Through the analysis of the depiction of male inferiority and female domination in the works,this article explicates the transfer process of the depiction of the love and marriage of the novels,explores the causes of its transformation,exponds its influence and significance,reveals the commonalities and differentiations of the changes that happened in the status of men and women between the reality and the novel,and point out that the essence of the relationship between men and women in the social environment at that time was “male inferiority”.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter briefly discusses the historical origin of “male inferiority” and its evolution in literature.In the second chapter,by combing the depiction of male superiority and female domination in the main novels of the Ming dynasty,it is found that the way of depicting females has experienced the changing process of female materialization,masculinization,demonization and feminization.The third chapter,taking the Scholar-Beauty Romance as an example,discusses the characteristics of the changes on the depiction of male superiority and female domination in the novels of the Scholar-Beauty Romance.The fourth chapter introduces the changing process and its characteristics of the depiction of the female domination in the main novels of the Qing dynasty.In the end,the remainder part summarizes the previous article,sorts out the transfer process of the depiction of the love and marriage of the chapters novels in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and the reasons,influence and significance of the transition are also expounded.Through careful analysis and interpretation of the text,it is hoped to have a clearer and deeper understanding on the development of chapters novels in the Ming and Qing dynasties.At the same time,it also provides a positive exploration on howwomen should be treated fairly and how the men and women could treat with each other more fairly,correctly and harmoniously.
