This report is the research and summary which is based on the translation practice of The Vampire's Omen,translated under the guidance of George Steiner's Fourfold Translation Motion Theory.Through the research and discussion of the translation strategy,hoping to provide reference for similar text.The original text belongs to children's literature,which contains five chapters,and the writer chooses four chapters of the text as the content of the translation practice.Comparing with adult literature,children's literature is more colloquial,and can be more easily apprehended.Therefore,the writer integrates the hermeneutics into translation practice,and combines the translation theory and translation practice to interpret the original text from the perspective of children's view,analyzing the original text from the four steps of the translating hermeneutics.This report firstly introduces the author and his works,and then expounds the essential ideas of George Steiner's hermeneutic theory from the three procedures of translation.Meanwhile,this report analyzes the specific applications of the theory.In the end,under the guidance of fourfold translation theory,I list specific instances on the basis of its word choice,syntax and rhetorical devices summing up experience that in order to accurately convey the original text and emotion,firstly splitting translation,conversion and various translation methods usually be used in children's literature translation.Secondly,Readers of children's literature has its unique specificity which requires the translator to use simple and intuitive expressions.Thirdly,children's literature has an educational function,thus translators should use more idioms and culture-loaded words,idioms,make full use of its educational function.
