| Reading,as one of four basic skills,is particularly important in English teaching in senior high school,and its scores represent the main position especially in college entrance examination.However,at present,English reading teaching is not optimistic.The teacher-centered teaching model is still adopted in senior high school,which can not effectively improve students’ English reading level.How to change this situation has become a general concern and discussion for researchers.This thesis adopts the interactive teaching model.In English reading teaching in senior high school,it is a learner-centered teaching model and advocates the interaction between the teacher and students,between students and students,and between students and the text.Besides,the interactive teaching model combines the top-down reading model and the bottom-up reading model.This study aims to stimulate students’ previous knowledge,help them to construct new knowledge and understand the texts well by utilizing relevant background knowledge during four stages of starting,linking,activating and innovating.To explore the feasibility and effectiveness of interactive teaching model in reading teaching,this study discusses the following two questions:1.Can the interactive teaching model improve students’ attitude towards English reading learning?2.Can the interactive teaching model improve students’ English reading proficiency?In this study,101 students from two parallel classes in Grade 2 in the Second Senior High School in Fuxin were selected as subjects.Two classes were randomly chosen as the control class and the experimental class,taught by the traditional teaching model and the interactive teaching model respectively.This experiment analyzed students’ attitude to English reading learning through the questionnaire(including three dimensions of emotion,behavioral intention and cognition)and the interview.Through tests(including the pre-test and the post-test)and the interview,students’ English reading proficiency was also conducted.Conclusions were obtained with the help of SPSS19.0: The interactive teaching model not only improved students’ English reading attitude,but also improved students’ reading proficiency effectively.What’s more,the development of this experimental study can play a guiding role for other researchers,and then more English teachers are expected to apply the interactive teaching model in teaching. |
