The Phonological Study Of Guigang Dialect

The research object of this paper is the phonology of Guigang dialect.Guigang dialect is affiliated to the Yongxun subdialect.The local also call it"Guixian dialect" and consider "Jieli dialect" as the authentic Guigang dialect.The object of our survey is "Jieli dialect".On the basis of materials which investigated by myself,we describe phonological system of Guigang dialect and analyze the phonological feature of Guigang dialect.We also conclude the processes and rules of the phonological evolution of Guigang dialect according to comparing Guigang dialect with mid-ancient sound system.We compare Guigang dialect with surrounding dialects including Nanning Cantonese,Yulin Cantonese,Lianzhou Cantonese and Binyang Xinqiao Pinghua,find out their similarities and differences and analyze the degree of intimacy between Guigang dialect and these four dialects.Finally,we infer the development process of some special phonetic phenomena,and find out the reasons of their development.This paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 is introduction.It mainly introduces the overview of Guigang city,the research condition of Guigang dialect,the research methods and the aims of this paper.And introduces the notations,the information of the pronunciation collaborators and the resources of the corpus of this paper.Chapter 2 depicts the phonetic system of Guigang dialect.Then summarizes characteristics and coordinate laws of consonants,vowels and tones of Guigang dialect.And sorts out the homophone of Guigang dialect.Chapter 3 compares Guigang dialect with mid-ancient sound system.Chapter 4 compares Guigang dialect with Nanning Cantonese,Yulin Cantonese,Lianzhou Cantonese and B inyang Xinqiao Pinghua,and find out their similarities and differences.Finally,analyzes the degree of intimacy between Guigang dialect and these four dialects.We find that Guigang dialect and Nanning dialect have a more close relationship.But Guigang dialect also has some same phonetic features with other three dialect.Chapter 5 explores some special phonetic phenomenons in Guigang dialect,and makes concrete analysis of the cause of these phonetic phenomenons,such as the consonants of old Chinese voiced rusheng words differentiated into aspirated and non-aspirated,the change of the initial RI,the change of initial XI,XIAO and XIA and the chain shift of primary vowel.We consider that the condition of consonants of old Chinese voiced rusheng words differentiated into aspirated and non-aspirated is the height of vowel tongue position of early Guigang dialect.According to the phenomenon that consonants of old Chinese voiced rusheng words differentiated into aspirated and non-aspirated,we guess that IVB of early Guigang dialect may divided into two kinds.Primary vowels of Guigang dialect has ever gone through a chain change that(?)>a>(?)>u,and we consider the reason of this change is the influence of Yulin dialect.Chapter 6 is the conclusion of this paper.It points out the inadequacies of the paper,and makes an expectation for further research about Guigang dialect.
