This thesis focuses on the "fragmented" art form of Francesco Clemente and his standpoint of "discontinuous continuity." to research on his art style,position and power in current art world.First of all,the author analyzes the convenience of the time background of Clemente,which inspired him to bring up the art form.Then,his non-linear way of thinking and the creation approach of braiding and leaving blank are elaborates.Later,the thesis analyzes how he presents the way of thinking in a fragmented way through three levels.The first level is about the portrait fragments he created based on his research on the challenge of human identity and self-awareness.The second level explains why Clemente divides the canvas into fragments to exhibit.The third level explains how to put braided points in the exhibition layout.Finally,through the interpretation of the other artist’s works,the reason why "fragmentation" in the current art circle is popular is clarified.Then the author combine her own works to analyze how she learned from Francesco Clemente and other artists,and her understanding and cognition of this art style.
