Nowadays,with the increasing diversity of world cultural development,the practice of the localization of western figurative sculpture is of great significance for carrying forward Chinese traditional culture and understanding Chinese aesthetic spirit.In this paper,by studying the Chinese artists practice course with the localization of western figurative sculptures,explored how academic artists in the creation show the artistic features of this nation,embodies the Chinese traditional aesthetic temperament.The full text is divided into three parts: first of all,Professor Cheng Man Shu is one of the pioneers of sculpture in China,to explore its in the case of western realistic training for a long time,how is showed in his works with unique charm of Oriental beauty.Second,since the western figurative sculpture was introduced into China,Chinese artists in various periods of the localization practices of outstanding works as an example,the analysis of the localization of western figurative sculpture practice course.In different time background,the western sculpture art and artists on the basis of this,the Chinese traditional culture spirit and elements into the sculpture creation,to explore the local context,let domestic sculpture art has its own national characteristics and aesthetic concept.This article through the review of relevant literature,visit the typical sculpture as the main means,to clear the ideas of these artists and their works using shaping method,classified accordingly,finally it is concluded that the western figurative sculpture significance and influence of local practice,prove that Chinese localization as well as the significance of sculpture art in today’s culture under the background of the importance of diversification.
