After the October Revolution of Russia, with the establishment of the Soviet regime, more than 2 million Russian expatriates with their nobles as the center exiled to the rest of the world.Among them, the largest number of Russians were exiled to Europe, followed by the United States and Australia. In contrast, the number of Russian expatriates fleeing to Japan is much smaller, only about a few thousand people. The exile of Russian expatriates in Japan went through three stages:from 1917 to 1923,from 1923 to 1939,and from 1939 to 1945.Among them, from 1917 to 1923,not only did the largest number of exiles exist, but also the status of the exiles was mainly aristocrats. The Japanese government did not refuse the exiled Russians. From 1918 to 1922,the Japanese government introduced a variety of policies targeting the Russians and restricted and screened Russian expatriates. The Russian expatriates who had flown out of Japan after the October Revolution not only surpassed any period in Japanese history, but also exceeded the number of foreigners staying in Japan during the same period.Despite the fate of Russia’s diaspora in Japan and its hard life, the Russian diaspora’s adherence to the Eastern Orthodox faith under the Western advanced capitalist culture has not only preserved the characteristics of Russian traditional culture, but also achieved remarkable results in economics and arts. Not only did it have a lot of impact on the daily lives of local Japanese residents such as clothing, food, housing, etc.,but it also greatly promoted the prosperity and development of Japan’s Hanshin area political economy and culture, and promoted the process of Japan’s modernization.
