A Study Of The Change Of Female Address Forms In Hengyang Dialect

Language is a complex social phenomenon that involves all aspects of human life,and its development and changes are bound to be restricted by many aspects.As a special language phenomenon,address form plays an important role in social interaction.Based on the theory of language contact,this study selects 180 Hengyang locals aged 6-45 years as the object of investigation in the context of the study of address language,by using the means of recording records and the methods of observation,interview and questionnaire survey and with the help of the GoldVerb X software to analyze the data obtained to investigate the change of female appellations in Hengyang dialect.This thesis mainly explores three aspects:1)What is the change in the use of female appellations?2)How do social factors such as age,gender,occupation and education level affect the change of female appellations in Hengyang dialect?3)What is the attitude of local people towards the change?It is found that the change of female appellations in Hengyang dialect results from a variety of social factors.The contact between Hengyang dialect and Putonghua has become increasingly frequent with the continuous social interaction and the popularization of Putonghua,which leads to the fact that the suffixes in the traditional female address forms gradually fate away.From the five types of change in female address form of Hengyang dialect,the type of change in women’ name followed by suffix ji(唧)is the largest.Female name followed by the suffix tuo(坨)changes relatively more.The change is relatively few in this type of female name followed by the suffix meiji(妹唧)and tangke(堂客)Among them,some female appellations in Hengyang dialect have been changed into female appellations in Putonghua,but the changes are relatively small.The use of female appellations in Hengyang dialect changes among young people aged 20 to 30.Among them,there is the greatest change among students,and there are more changes in the use of female appellations among people who receive education of universities and above.From the perspective of language attitude,most people are willing to accept this change.Women,students and young people are more likely to accept this change.On the whole,people have a positive attitude towards the change of the language phenomenon.The female appellation is a unique linguistic phenomenon in Hengyang dialect.On the one hand,the research on the change of female appellation in Hengyang dialect can acknowledge the development situation of the dialect.On the other hand,people can understand this period of social culture and human values,and deepen the understanding of female appellation...
