A Translation Report On Stylistic Approaches To Translation

Along with the deepening of international cultural exchanges,translation stylistics has gradually attracted more and more attention.In the west,the study of stylistics started very early,but the study of stylistics as a specialized subject did not begin until modern times.The study of translation and stylistics has a long history,but it rarely studies the combination of translation and stylistic.The translation object of this project is the Stylistic Approaches to Translation.It is a rare foreign work that integrates all aspects of stylistics with translation studies and gives detailed translation cases.Therefore,it is necessary to translate them into Chinese in order to improve the understanding of translation stylistics for people.This translation practice is mainly guided by the text typology theory and text analysis theory,and summarizes the translation strategies and translation skills of academic texts,meanwhile it summarizes the professional vocabularies as well.The total words of original text that have been translated is estimated about 10103,all of which has satisfied the writing requirements of this translation practice.The translator selected some contents of the first chapter to translate into Chinese,including the factors involved in the style,before stylistics,universals of style and creative transposition,the relationship between style and context,relativity of style and translating literary and non-literary texts.Under the lack of relevant Chinese version about translation stylistics researches,this project provides a reference for the development of translation stylistics,and helps people deliver more information for the researchers at home,and makes people comprehensively understand the development and influence of translation and stylistics,and broadens the horizon of research field.Meanwhile,it can also affect the people who study relevant knowledge in this field,and promote the development and communication in the field of translation and stylistics at home and abroad.During the process of translation,the translator describes the background,the main content and the purpose and significance of the program.And the translator analyzes text using the theory of text analysis and text typology to summarize intratextual and extratextual factors.Before the translation,the translator collected a large number of relevant materials,with the help of websites and dictionaries,etc,to analyze cases by literal translation,word formation,amplification or omission words and adjusting the order.At the same time,a glossary was established.When translating the text of the project,the translator has made a translation plan,and often communicate with teachers and professionals to make sure the accuracy of the translation.Through this translation practice project,the translator improved the own abilities,and acquired the knowledge of translation stylistics,and accumulated the experience to solve the problem.At the same time,translation skills that summarized by translator provided certain references for other translators in related field.
