An Interpretation Report On 2017 World Conference Of Former Foreign Residents In Harbin

To further implement the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping and propel the Heart-to-Heart Connectivity Project,from June 25 th to June 30 th in 2017,the World Conference of Former Foreign Residents in Harbin was held by People’s Municipal Government of Harbin.As a cultural inclusive city,Harbin was once the gathering place for Russian in the last century.137 Participated guests are all former foreign residents and their offspring from 11 countries all over the world.The conference had attracted great attention both from home and abroad by its unique creations,origin forms and rich contents.Medias including CCTV,Phoenix TV,Radio California had followed the report of the conference.The author also participated in everyday schedule as the person in charge of the guests from Australia,America and Canada,and also work as an interpreter to help with the on-site interview interpreting.The schedule of the conference is relatively tight,and the task of interpretation is heavy.The translator must ensure the accuracy of the conference while ensuring that the conference is performed in an orderly manner.Therefore,the translator must be relatively full before the beginning of the interpreting practice.Prepare to ensure the completion of the task.In this report,the author made an analysis on the four principles of Eugene A Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory.With the combination of practice and theory,the author confirmed the main strategies for interview interpretation.In the meantime,the author recognized the identification and processing of the English Accent of Australian Guests and found out the effective strategies.The application of Eugene A Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory plays an important role in this practice.The application of "functional equivalence theory" in the practice of interpreting plays an important rule.Only if the function of the translated target language homologous language is the same,can both parties understand and grasp relevant information and achieve the purpose of interviewing and communicating.The author hopes that through this translation study,it can provide reference for the translation and translation studies in the field of interview translation,especially in the field of interview interpreting and related fields,and provide useful resources for the related teaching and learning of interview interpretation.
