The symmetrical research of modern Chinese language antonyms or anti-morphemes has become one of the most important tasks in the linguistics field,and has drawn more and more attention from experts and scholars.In this article,I select "sheng" "shu" this antonyms as my object of research,using Three-Plane Theory and Markedness Theory as my guidance,then I use Communicative Interaction and cognitive linguistic theory as supplementary,so that I can lucubrate" sheng""shu" in two levels called Synchronic and Diachronic.I have tried my best to deepen the understanding of our cognition of the symmetry condition of Chinese vocabulary,which,in the end,helps the research of Antonym Symmetry Theory.This paper contains five individual parts:Chapter Ⅰ:The Introduction Part.This chapter mainly summarizes the research purpose,the research significance and research ideas and methods of the paper,also,it introduces the recent achievements in the field of linguistics about the Chinese antonyms symmetry and demonstrates the Corpus sources of this paper.Chapter Ⅱ:Diachronic study for the symmetry condition of "sheng" "shu".This chapter combs the development of "sheng" "shu" based on three different periods called ancient times,mediaeval times and modern times respectively,illuminates the producing time extended and evolution process of each semantic and identifies the asymmetry of this antonyms in the development process.Chapter Ⅲ:Symmetry and asymmetry of "sheng" "shu" in lexical level.This chapter contains tree parts,first of all,this chapter summarizes the quantities of semantic items of "sheng" "shu",analyzing if there is symmetry existed among those semantic items;Secondly,it inspects number of word formation and the word formation itself,and then analyzes symmetry and asymmetry of different couples of semantic items that have corresponding relationship with"sheng" "shu" in word formation level.Last but not least,this chapter calculates and analyzes the difference of "sheng" "shu" in usage frequency,using the dictionary as a assistance,and in the end generalizes symmetry and asymmetry of "sheng" "shu".Chapter Ⅳ:Symmetry and asymmetry of "sheng" "shu" in syntactic level.This chapter contains six parts,and it analyzes the situation when we treat each semantic item corresponds to "sheng" "shu" as predicate,attributive,adverbial complement and adverb or just as a fixed usage,and then we analyze its syntactic component and symmetry and asymmetry when it is treated as idiom or folk adage.Chapter Ⅴ:The reasons why "unripe and ripe" contains asymmetry.In the chapter,in order to analyze the reasons of asymmetry of "sheng" "shu",we mainly base on Markedness Theory,using Cognitive linguistics Theory and Economic principles theory of communication as the supplementary,and combine the content of voice,semantic dominant word and latent word.
