A Report On Simulated Interpretation Of The Press Conference By The State Council Information Office In October,2016

In recent years,with the rapid development of China’s economy and the rise of status,China has become increasingly connected with the world and exchanges are also increasing.At various press conferences and the annual "two sessions",Chinese-characteristic expressions caught our eyes more than often.Chinese and English belong to different language systems,therefore huge differences in cultural background,language structure and wording habit are inevitable.It is very difficult for interpreters to cope with Chinese-characteristic expressions at a press conference because of time limit,pressure and the impossibility of finding corresponding expressions in English,therefore,effective techniques are essential for interpreters.Under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,the author carried out a simulated interpretation practice with material of the press conference on the economic development of October,2016,held by the State Council Information Office.And examples are demonstrated to illustrate the interpretation techniques of Chinese-characteristic expressions.
