For Britain,which is surrounded by the sea,the shipbuilding industry is a very important industrial sector.During Tudor Dynasty,King of the British began to implement overseas policies and expand commercial trade.This paper discusses the specific situation of the initial development of British shipbuilding industry in the Tudor dynasty,and the development of shipyard and shipbuilding technology is the focus of the discussion.By sorting out the development history of the British shipbuilding industry during this period,we have a clearer understanding of the development of the shipbuilding industry in the Tudor Dynasty,so as to understand the role of the shipbuilding industry in the rise of the United Kingdom.The first chapter analyzes the development background of shipbuilding industry in Tudor dynasty.Under the influence of mercantilist economic thought,the British government introduced relevant economic policies,which promoted the development of commercial trade.As a means of transport,ships have greatly increased their demand in domestic and overseas trade.At the same time,the royal family’s willingness to develop the navy required the quality and quantity of the ships.The second chapter introduces the development of the shipyard in Tudor dynasty.The shipyards of this period were mainly distributed in the southeast of England,along the banks of the Tyne and Tees rivers along the Thames and in the northeast.Alongside the River Thames,it has become an important shipbuilding center with its huge geographic and political advantages.The main royal shipyards such as Portsmouth and Woolwich are all built in this area.The ships produced by these shipyards are mostly small vessels,and the proportion of medium-sized ships of 200-400 tons has gradually increased during this period.Ships of over 1,000 tons have started to appear.In the third and fourth chapter,the improvement process of shipbuilding technology in Tudor dynasty was summarized,and the situation of "man" in the development of shipbuilding industry in Tudor dynasty was introduced.From medieval paddle sailing,to side-arm artillery equipment,to the appearance of new Galen vessels,British ships have been continuously improved as demand has adapted to the needs of economic activity and overseas exploration.At the same time,the appearance of ship drawings during this period is one of the major breakthroughs in the history of navigation.The fourth chapter mainly describes the salary level and organization of shipbuilding craftsmen,such as the shipbuilding family and the shipbuilding industry.During this period,the establishment of the Naval Affairs Committee laid the administrative foundation for the effective management of shipyards.The fifth chapter of this paper compares the initial development of the shipbuilding industry of the Tudor Dynasty with the development of the shipbuilding industry in the Ming Dynasty and the Netherlands,thus illustrating the advantages and status of the British shipbuilding industry during this period.Based on this,it analyzes the role of the initial development of the shipbuilding industry in the British economy and the fight for maritime rights,and explains its development issues.Finally,in the conclusion,it summarizes the specific conditions of each phase of the initial development of the British shipbuilding industry.In conjunction with the closure of the Portsmouth Shipyard,it discusses the important position of the shipbuilding industry in Britain.
