| Writing,as one of the four basic skills in English learning,is not only the comprehensive embodiment of students’ language proficiency,but also an important element of English teaching.As a result,it is writing that has been the key and difficult point in English teaching.However,the traditional writing instruction that lacks peer interaction and cooperation makes students think little about the communicative function of writing,which is one of the factors impairing students’ writing proficiency.At the same time,teachers have spent enormous amount of time and energy in students’ compositions,but the result is far from satisfactory.In such a situation,more attention should be paid to the role of students themselves in the process of writing.Therefore,the author applies a new kind of writing feedback method,namely,peer feedback,which tries to put students at the center of the composition evaluation,aiming to improve the students’ writing performance and enthusiasm while taking students’ emotional involvement into consideration.The research has explored the following questions:1.What is the attitude of senior high school students toward peer feedback in English writing instruction?2.What are the effects of peer feedback on senior high school students’ English writing proficiency?3.How does peer feedback affect the writing enthusiasm and interest of senior high school students?This study combines qualitative analyses and quantitative analyses.Questionnaires and tests are included in the quantitative research part and interview is the main instrument of qualitative research in this research.According to the dataanalysis and discussion,we have gained the following major findings:Firstly,the vast majority of senior high school students have a positive attitude towards peer feedback.Secondly,peer feedback activities increase students’ score and improve students’ writing proficiency mostly,especially in enriching contents and optimizing structure.Thirdly,peer feedback inspires students’ enthusiasm and cultivates their self-confidence in writing.Meanwhile,students’ automatic learning ability has improved greatly. |
