| This translation report is based on the translation of first three chapters of science fiction Ancillary Justice by an American writer Ann Leckie.This novel has the characteristics of scientificity,fantasy,popularization and literature.Newmark’s communicative translation theory focuses on the understanding and reaction of target readers,it requires the translator reorganizes the language structure in order to make the translation authentically and fluently.So this theory is adopted based on the analysis of text features and target readers in this science fiction.This translation report aims to explore the difficulties and their solutions guided by communicative translation theory in the translation of the science fiction.This translation project mainly consists of four parts.First of all,it introduces the background and meaning of translation.Secondly,it describes the content and features of the text and the theory the translator chooses.Thirdly,it introduces the main part of this project.Guided by communicative translation theory,the translator applies some translation skills like annotation,addition and division to solve the specific cases in terms of words and sentences aspects.At last,the translator sums up experience and enlightenment during the process of translation and puts forward the findings and limitations.During the whole process,the translator chooses appropriate translation theory to deal with some difficulties in the translation of fiction.The translator hopes that,with the translator’s effort,some suggestions can be produced for the translation of science fiction in the future. |
