| Through questionnaires and psychological testing on Chinese teacher volunteers to Thai,This study found that in the performance of cognitive style,male teachers and postgraduate teachers tend to be more independent than female teachers and bachelor degree teachersmale teachers and bachelor degree teachers are more obvious,while female teachers and postgraduate teachers are more compatible.The two factors of major and teaching experience have no significant relationship with teachers’ cognitive style tendency.In the teaching strategies related to discipline requirements,class methods,and students’ answers to questions,the frequency of discrepancy of the field-dependent and field-independent teachers is relatively large,showing that these are affected by cognitive styles.Under the four perspectives of combining cognitive style with gender,educational background,major,and teaching experience,some of the strategy items show the characteristics of being significantly affected by the certain main effect or interaction.Through the classroom observation and interviews of the typical teachers,it was found that,when considering which teaching strategies to adopt,the field-dependent teachers pay more attention to students’ learning atmosphere,relationship with students,and students’ psychology;while the field-independent teachers pay more attention to teaching effects,teacher’s authority,teaching management.Cognitive style affects but does not determine the teacher’s teaching strategy.Teachers should understand their own cognitive style characteristics,combine specific teaching objects,and flexibly choose the teaching strategies. |
