| With the deepening of exchanges between China and Thailand,Volunteer Chinese Teacher project has been warmly welcomed in Thailand.In teaching practice,the author found that volunteer Chinese teachers who went to Thailand Vocational Education Commission would encounter difficulties in teaching adaptation,and on this basis,conducted a survey on teaching adaptation.This study mainly adopts the methods of questionnaire and interview to investigate the teaching adaptation of volunteer Chinese teachers who went to Thai Vocational Education Committee School and of those who went to other Vocational Education Committee School in recent three years(2017-2019).By investigating the situation and problems of teaching adaptation of volunteer Chinese teachers in Thailand,this paper analyzes the causes of adaptation difficulties,and puts forward corresponding suggestions for improvement.This paper is divided into five parts,the first part is the introduction,the second part is the survey design,the second part is mainly on the purpose,object,methods,reliability and validity of the survey.The third part is a questionnaire survey on the teaching adaptation of volunteer Chinese teachers.It mainly conducts statistical analysis of the results of the questionnaire,including the basic situation of volunteer Chinese teachers,the projects of good and bad teaching adaptation and specific cases.The fourth part is the analysis of the causes of the difficulties in teaching adaptation,mainly from two aspects: the volunteers themselves and the teaching environment.The fifth part is to come up with the countermeasures and suggestion on teaching adaptation,mainly from the perspective of volunteers,Center for Language Education and Cooperation and Thai schools.The survey shows that the volunteer Chinese teachers in Thai Vocational Education Commission Schools have good teaching ability and strong adaptability,but there are still some problems in teaching adaptation.The difficulties in teaching adaptation are mainly reflected in classroom teaching,teaching arrangement,teaching management,teachers’ language adaptation,teachers’ cross-cultural adaptation,adaptation to students’ characteristics and adaptation to the schools.The main reasons for teachers’ difficulties in adapting themselves are that their Thai language proficiency is not high,their teaching ability is insufficient,and their classroom organization and management ability is comparatively weak.At the same time,the teaching adaptation of volunteers is also affected by students and schools.In view of the above problems,we put forward relevant suggestions.For volunteers,first,to improve their Thai language proficiency;second,to improve their teaching ability;and third,to make adequate preparations before taking office.For the Center for Language Education and Cooperation,first,to strengthen the targeted training;second,to publish the school information;third,to strengthen the communication between volunteers.For foreign Vocational Education Commission schools,first,to perfect the Chinese language education system;second,to improve teaching conditions;third,to strengthen the support for Chinese language education. |
