Flipped classroom,which integrates modern information technology with education,makes huge impact on classroom teaching at home and abroad,achieves related effects and gets definite response from teachers and students.Hence,analyzing and studying the current situation of flipped classroom in senior high school English teaching can broaden the channels of senior high school English teaching and can give some suggestions for the effective English teaching.The investigation and research of this paper are carried out based on summarizing the related research on flipped classroom at home and abroad,based on theoretical foundation of connectivism,constructivism and autonomous learning through questionnaires and interviews for 240 students and 21 teachers in Liu Zhou Senior High School.This paper mainly explores the following three questions:(1)Could flipped classroom improve student’s interest in English learning,promote student’s cooperation and interflow as well as autonomous learning ability and facilitate teacher-student relation?(2)What kind of abilities could English teacher enhance in flipped classroom and what difficulties will they meet in implementing?(3)What weaknesses does flipped classroom have in senior high school English teaching?Findings in this research are showed as follows.(1)Flipped classroom can improve student’s English learning interest and promote cooperation and interflow and autonomous learning ability.Meanwhile,the relation between students and teachers has been facilitated.(2)Flipped classroom can enhance teacher’s information literacy and subject quality to some extent.(3)As for the major difficulties of flipped classroom in senior high school English teaching,four aspects are found.Firstly,English teachers’ information technology ability is comparatively defective.Secondly,students’ self-learning ability is not stronger enough.Thirdly,English teachers’ workload is heavy.Fourthly,students cannot use computers and internet frequently.(4)Some weaknesses are also found by author such as no enough related training both for students and teachers,little impact on the improvement in academic achievement in English,no satisfactory result in cultivating students’ higher order thinking ability and no enough investment and support from school.Based on the above results,several suggestions are raised in this paper to give some references for the implementation of flipped classroom in senior high school English teaching.The pedagogical implications are enumerated in three aspects: senior high school,teachers and students.As for senior high schools,suggestions are raised focusing on enhancing investment and support.In terms of teachers,advice are put forward based on improving their own information literacy continuously,enhancing students’ autonomous learning ability and higher order thinking ability and boosting learning effects in flipped classroom.As for students,the suggestions of this paper mainly lay emphasis on improving students’ information technology,self-learning ability,higher order thinking ability and scores.Since the ability of the researcher is limited and there are some limitations in research method and research angel,there is still space to be improved.Therefore,the advice for future research is given.
