Relationship Between Parental Social Support And Psychological Stress In Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders: Mediating Role Of Resilience

Mental health of special groups is the focus of people’s attention.Social support,as a variety of help that a person can obtain from the society,represents the social relationship quality of a person’s social network,and reflects the degree of social group’s recognition of a person.Meanwhile,the level of social support will directly affect psychological pressure.Mental toughness is a kind of characteristic and ability to adapt to the external environment.Whether an individual can quickly adjust and adapt to pressure sources and excitant events plays a significant role in this process.People with low mental toughness cannot adapt well,which will undoubtedly lead to the increase of psychological pressure.At the same time,psychological stress is one of the important factors to measure individual mental health.Therefore,it is of great significance for the mental health of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder to study the level of social support,psychological stress and mental resilience of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder and explore the relationship between them and the mediating role of mental resilience.In this study,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 130 parents of children with autism spectrum disorder,and SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data.The results showed that:(1)the autism spectrum disorder children parents social support level is general,and male parent is significantly higher than female parents,older parents is significantly higher than the younger parents,marriage good parents marriage is significantly higher than bad parents,high monthly income of parents is significantly higher than low monthly income of parents.(2)parents of children with autism spectrum disorder have medium psychological pressure,and female parents are significantly higher than male parents,younger parents are significantly higher than older parents,parents with poor marital relationship are significantly higher thanparents with good marital relationship,and parents with low monthly income are significantly higher than parents with high monthly income.(3)parents of children with autism spectrum disorder have a high level of psychological resilience,and male parents are significantly higher than female parents,older parents are significantly higher than younger parents,parents with good marital relationship are significantly higher than parents with poor marital relationship,and parents with high monthly income are significantly higher than those with low monthly income.(4)there is a significant negative correlation between social support and psychological stress of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.(5)there is a significant positive correlation between social support and psychological resilience of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.(6)there is a significant negative correlation between mental resilience and psychological stress of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.(7)social support and mental resilience of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder can significantly predict psychological stress.(8)the psychological resilience of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder plays an intermediary role in the influence of social support on psychological stress.
