A Comparative Study Of Confucius's And Mo-tse's Technological Ethical Thoughts

Based on the different social living environment,working attributes,life beliefs and technological opinion,Confucius and Mo-tse formed quite different views of controlling technology with Tao,shaping a gentleman,understanding of relationship between Tao and technology and technological function,they have also been evaluated differently in the history of our country.From four aspects of social management,technology education communication,ecological technology and artistic aesthetics,this paper analyses the differences between Confucius and Mo-tse in the concepts of righteousness-benefit relationship,gentleman cultivation,technical norms,technological beliefs,ecological ethical care and cultural quality relationship.Starting from the different influence of historical environment,this paper draws the difference between Confucius' s and Mo-tse's technological ethics thoughts under the historical factors.This paper starts from the different attitudes and opinions of Confucius and Mo-tse towards technology,it analyses how they discuss the social impact of technological activities from an ethical point of view,and how they use ethical and moral concepts to guide and restrict technological activities.On the enlightenment of the modern predicament of technological ethics,this paper get a simple return path of artistic skills from Confucius' s technical return and Mo-tse's way to simplicity,and points out that simplified technology can uncover human nature,thus promoting the harmonious unity of human and technology.The modern value of the comparison between Confucius' s and Mo-tse's technological aesthetics also lies in the effective guidance of the return and inheritance of craftsmen spirit in the new era,and points out that the pursuit and shaping of craftsmen spirit in the new era originates from the aesthetic construction and spirit creation of craftsmen spirit.This paper introduces the comparative factor of technology ethics into the study of Confucius and Mo-tse ethics,it provides a new way of thinking for expanding the research of technological ethics,and has a strong reference and guiding significance for the study of social specific issues of technological ethics.
