The rapid development of network information technology has brought mankind into a new era of information network.It also has had a profound impact on the field of education.The cultivation of Master of English Education has become an important research issue of great concern.It aims to cultivate English teachers in primary and secondary schools with good moral character,solid theoretical basis,excellent practical ability and good comprehensive quality.Masters of English Education are vital resources for future English teachers.However,there are many problems and challenges in the cultivation of Master of English Education.Blended learning provides a new perspective for solving these problems and meeting the challenges.It is more conducive to the cultivation of autonomous learning ability.On the one hand,the acquisition of autonomous learning ability helps Masters of English Education to efficiently complete the education plan and achieve teaching objectives in a short period of time.On the other hand,the cultivation of autonomous learning ability is beneficial to the lifelong learning for Masters of English Education.Thus,it is of great importance to cultivate autonomous learning ability regardless of the short term or the long run.The study aims to explore the current situation of autonomous learning of Masters of English Education and find the requirements or challenges faced by them in the new situation.Some reasonable suggestions for the cultivation of autonomous learning ability of them are endeavored to put forward as well.Based on the research purposes,the study addresses the following three questions:(1)What are the effects of blended learning on the cultivation of Master of English Education?(2)What are the requirements of blended learning for autonomous learning of Master of English Education?(3)How to cultivate the autonomous learning ability of Master of English Education based on blended learning?This study takes three universities which carry out blended learning in Shandong Province as research objectives.It focuses on 203 Masters of English Education.It adopts the literature analysis method,the questionnaire method and the interview method to carry out the research.Based on the literature analysis,the thesis regards Constructivism Theory and Unicom Theory as theoretical support and a questionnaire survey is conducted.The questionnaire combines autonomous learning ability with blended learning and it contains four dimensions.An interview is followed by the questionnaire to further explore the requests proposed by blended learning for Masters of English Education about their autonomous learning.There are three major findings of the research.Firstly,the research suggests that blended learning has made a profound impact on autonomous learning of Masters of English Education.Their autonomous learning behaviors under the background of blended learning are different from that of traditional learning mode.Blended learning has effected their learning effects in various ways and urged them to grasp essential learning strategies as well.What's more,they are facing with new requirements in their autonomous learning proposed by blended learning,such as autonomous learning ability and communicative competence.Finally,some suggestions are put forward to cultivate autonomous learning ability of Masters of English Education,based on the results and analysis of the research.The research is of great value.Firstly,it can reflect the current situation of autonomous learning ability of Master of English Education based on blended learning.Besides,it can provide valuable references of implementation of blended learning for universities.Finally,it endeavors to provide references for the cultivation of autonomous learning ability of Masters of English Education under the background of blended learning.These suggestions are helpful to them,since they can develop their autonomous learning ability in a targeted and planned way.
