| Cyber bullying refers to an attack by individuals or groups who intentionally harm individuals which cannot easily protect themselves through electronic communication devices such as computers and mobile phones.Nowadays, the network almost covers all aspects of our life, and the phenomenon of cyber bullying is more and more obvious. This year, some studies have found that family upbringing style and personality traits have a certain predictive effect on offline bullying. Can the family upbringing style and personality traits of junior high school students predict cyber bullying and bullying? Our country has a unique education system and methods. What characteristics will these reflect on the relationship between personality traits and bullying in junior high school? Therefore, this study designed two studies to explore the relationship between cyber bullying and family upbringing and personality traits of junior high school students in both quantitative and qualitative ways.In study 1,the relationship between these variables and junior high school students’ cyber bullying was explored by using quantitative research methods, taking demographic variables of junior high school students, types of parenting styles and personality as dependent variables. The results show that: junior high school students’ online bullying is related to their gender and grade;parental warm understanding of the upbringing style is negatively related to junior high school students’ online bullying bullying, while parental punishment, parents’ excessive interference, parents’ refusal to deny, parents’ preference for the subjects’ upbringing style is positively related to junior high school students’ online bullying bullying;Qualitative,internal-external,neurotic and disguising tendencies are significantly correlated with junior high school students’ cyber bullying and bullying. In study 2,I used in-depth interviews in qualitative research orientation, based on "purposeful sampling",and on this basis,I adopted both intensity sampling and random sampling methods.Through these sampling methods,I selected 17 junior high school students in Shanghai as the research object, and conducted two in-depth semi-structured interviews with these subjects, each of which lasted about 30 minutes. In the process of research,I used two research methods of "open coding" and "continuous comparison" to analyze and refine the content of the original data, and obtained the results of junior high school students’ current situation and consequences of cyber bullying.Through the above research, the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Junior high school students’ cyber bullying is related to their gender, grade, parental rearing style and personality, and junior high school students’ irritable personality has a higher correlation with cyber bullying.(2)The same junior high school students may be both perpetrators and victims of cyber bullying.(3)Good peer relationship can reduce the incidence and severity of online bullying. |
