| Questioning in English reading classes is an important method for teachers,it is a way to understand students’ learning,check students’ weaknesses in reading English,and strengthen communication between teachers and students.Good questioning strategies can develop students’ reading ability,improve their reading skills,and help students achieve good results in English learning.However,in rural areas,the questioning strategies in English reading classes have not achieved the desired results.There are many questions in class questions.Therefore,this paper studies the questioning strategies used by teachers in English reading classes in rural junior high schools,and finds out the influence teachers through practical investigations.The use of questioning strategies and the formulation of appropriate strategies to promote the use of questioning strategies in reading classes can help students to learn English better and promote their physical and mental health.This paper starts with the theoretical basis of reading and questioning strategies,and uses literature,questionnaires,observational recording,etc.to study the status quo of teachers’ questions in English reading classes in rural junior high schools,and to find out the problems before class,in class,and after class:(1)Before class.The preparation of questioning and questioning methods by the teacher before class is not sufficient,and students cannot read the questions before reading the class.(2)In class.Excessive display-type problems can not stimulate the students’ way of thinking.In order to complete classroom tasks,teachers can shorten the time for asking questions,give students insufficient waiting time,and have less feedback for students.(3)After class.Students do not think much about asking questions,and teachers rarely summarize and think about questioning strategies after class.In response to the above problems,this paper proposes a classroom questioning strategy that is in line with rural English teaching.(1)Before class.Teachers should use the teaching content and goal-oriented pre-department preparation strategies to design student-based strategies for asking questions.(2)In class.The teacher should make reasonable arrangements for waiting time,choose the right timing and object of questioning,pay attention to his own tone and attitude,and give feedback to the students in class.(3)After class.Teachers need to strengthen their own modern teaching strategies,improve their self-knowledge,and help students think and discuss issues.This dissertation focuses on the research and practice of questioning strategies in rural junior high school English teaching.It can improve the ability of rural junior high school English teachers to use questioning strategies in reading classes,optimize the classroom questioning methods,arouse students’ interest and hobbies in junior high school English,and improve classroom teaching.The effectiveness and quality of questions raise students’ English proficiency. |
