| In the process of economic globalization,China has accepted challenges and seized opportunities with a positive attitude.On the basis of facts at home and abroad,the country’s economic growth remains rapid and steady by taking multiple policies,and has formed its own developing pattern.Recently,the economy exchanges between China and the other countries are more frequent as the proposing of initiatives such as the Belt and Road initiative.More and more countries start to study China’s economy and use its experience for reference.The book,Report on National Conditions Written in Peking University is written by Professor Lin Yifu,celebrated economist,and other professors of Peking University.It analyzed China’s economy from several perspectives such as China’s economy and economic reform.The translation of chapter one and several sections in the book has been completed,and the target text can help to introduce China’s economy to the world.Skopos theory has a guiding significance to the translation activity.Under the guidance of skopos theory,the three rules,skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule,are adopted in the translation process to well present China’s economy and its polices.The book,Report on National Conditions Written in Peking University belongs to informative text type,which has strict languages and a well-organized structure.To achieve the end of the translation,literal translation method was used,while there exist some translation difficulties at lexical,syntactic and textual levels that cannot be solved by this method.At lexical level,the translation of special words and phrases as well as conversion of parts-of-speech are the main difficulties;at syntactic level,non-subject sentences and long sentences are mainly to be dealt with;at textual level,the coherence in target text and between source text and target text are focused.This report is written to provide translation techniques for Chinese-English translation of economic texts by the analysis of the above translation difficulties and its translation techniques. |
