Practical writing is a communicative tool frequently used by people to convey information,handle official affairs and daily things.Some practical writing can also be used as important evidence and basis for social life and interpersonal communication.With the economic and social development and the practical needs of work,study and life,practical writing has become more and more diverse in function and also be frequently used.What’s more,good practical writing ability plays an important role in college students’ comprehensive quality,which can promote students’ professional competitiveness in the future workplace.It must be studied carefully,mastered skillfully and applied accurately.Nowadays,some colleges,especially the higher vocational colleges,have generally set up practical writing courses.However,they do not pay enough attention to practical writing teaching.The curriculum setting is relatively inflexible,which makes it difficult for teachers to teach and tedious for students to learn.As a result,the teaching effect is not ideal and students lack the necessary practical writing ability.The analysis of the reasons is caused by three factors,that is,the teaching material is divorced from reality,the teaching neglected student standard,the teaching method is traditional monotonous.Therefore,practical writing teaching in higher vocational colleges is not only particularly important,which must be paid great attention to it,but also the reform is an inevitable trend,imperative and urgent.This paper firstly collects and collates the relevant domestic and foreign literature materials,and elaborates the basic mode of practical writing course teaching in higher vocational college and even reads the above information in detail,analyze and comment it;Secondly,by conducting the questionnaire survey on the views of students in higher vocational colleges in A region,the paper aims to understand the problems faced by practical writing courses in higher vocational colleges,after understanding the research status of practical writing courses in higher vocational colleges,the existing problems of practical writing courses in higher vocational colleges are summarized;Thirdly,based on the questionnaire survey and interview,this paper analyzes the causes of the existing problems of practical writing courses in higher vocational colleges,and also provides a good foundation for the research of this subject.Finally,according to the teaching tasks and teaching objectives,the teaching methods including the role of process writing teaching method,case teaching method,situational teaching method,task-driven teaching method and self-inquiry teaching method in improving students’ practical writing ability are explored in this paper.
