A Report On The Interpreting Practice Of The Exclusive Interview With Xu Heyi,Chairman Of BAIC Group In The Talk Of Entrepreneurs

This report takes the Exclusive Interview with Xu Heyi,chairman of BAIC Group in the Talk of Entrepreneurs as the material for the Chinese-to-English interpretation practice.As a top economic interview of NPC&CPPCC of CNR,the Talk of Entrepreneurs conducts interviews and discussions in depth with entrepreneurs on various economic policies related to NPC&CPPCC.The author chooses the interview with Xu Heyi,chairman of BAIC Group in March,2017 as a practical material for consecutive interpretation.In the interview,the host,Liang Jing,discusses with Xu Heyi on the topics of the corporate culture,the recent achievements and the future development plan of BAIC in combination with the Government Work Report.The interview is highly targeted and professional.In the process of the interview,there are also some widely-shared difficulties in English translation of those Chinese interview programs,like some semantic repetition,some ambiguous sentences,and some grammatical deficiencies.In the interpreting practice,the author uses the theory of compensation in Chinese-to-English translation as the theoretical guidance,and chooses the methods of cutting and reorganizing,conversing,adding and omitting and so on to make the interpretation more smoothly and ensure the comprehensibility.Through the study of the theory of compensation and the combination of the theory with the practice of interpretation,this report explores the specific applicable strategies of the theory in the practice of Chinese-to-English interpretation.The strategies and methods drawn from it will also provide some references to the interpreting work in relevant fields.
