BLM,integrating the double advantages of classroom learning and online learning,has incomparable superiority and provides a rich resource and colorful stage of moving tools for the empirical study of college English reading teaching.It serves as a bridge which exhibits the in-class lecturing,the independent study,and the evaluation of the class and independent learning after class.Therefore,the class time is saved,more teaching activities and teaching evaluation can be carried out,and the teachers' assistances and influences can run through every teaching step beyond the limitations of the classroom.This is a breakthrough in the traditional teaching environment,and also an effective supplement and improvement of traditional college English teaching(Gong Rui,2011).With the rapid development of China's social economy and science and technology,international exchanges have been becoming more and more frequent,the demand of society for diversified talents and English proficiency has become increasingly great,and people pay much attention to the practical application and communicative competence of English.Coupled with the development and maturity of multimedia network technology,the traditional English teaching mode is far from meeting the needs of students' learning and social development.Many foreign schools have implemented BLM that suits their own features according to the characteristics of the school.Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education clearly proposing the goals and tasks of English teaching reform and the promotion of new technologies,some universities in China have also joined the education reform of the mode.Although the concept of BLM is sought after by the education community,there are not many empirical examples of the application of BLM concepts to traditional English teaching.Based on the literature review,theoretical foundation,and the experiment,two classes of non-English majors in Grade 2016 from Northwest Minzu University were selected as the subjects of the research.The questionnaire method and the SPSS16.0 research tool were used to design a hybrid instructional model suitable for the class.After careful research and extensive research,this paper draws the following conclusions:1)The application of BLM can improve College students' English reading scores.2)BLM has a positive impact on English reading's questions of inference.3)BLM can arouse students' interest,understanding and learning method in English reading.
