The Effect Of Face Emotional Intensity On The Whole Face And Body Mood Information

The recognition of emotional face is very important in interpersonal communication.Most of the researches on emotional face recognition only use face as the research material,but in the daily interpersonal interaction,face emotion and body emotion always appear at the same time,and in the process of emotional recognition,Whether the processing of facial and body emotion cues is carried out separately or as a whole has attracted the attention of many researchers.Some studies have found that body emotion have an important impact on the recognition of face emotions with different intensities.The purpose of this study is to explore whether the processing of face-body emotion is a whole process,and the effect of facial emotional intensity on the integration of facial and body emotional information.Therefore,this study used the experimental method(behavioral experiment and eye movement experiment),using the compound face task paradigm,that is,face-body emotion congruent aligned/misaligned and incongruent aligned/misaligned.In the first experiment,by judging the emotional valence of the face in the face-body emotional combination stimulus,it is investigated whether the judgment of the emotional valence of the face will integrate the physical emotional information;In the second experiment,the effects of face emotional intensity on the integration of face and body emotional information in high and low intensity face-body emotion combination stimulation were investigated.In the third experiment,the eye movement characteristics of high/low intensity facial and body emotional integration were discussed.The results show that:(1)Body emotion affects the recognition of facial emotions,the accuracy of facial emotion recognition under congruent conditions is significantly higher than that under incongruent conditions;(2)under incongruent alignment,negative faces The accuracy of recognition is significantly lower than the accuracy of recognition under incongruent misalignment conditions;(3)under consistent misalignment conditions,the accuracy of low-intensity positive and negative face recognition is significantly lower than that under congruent alignment conditions;(4)Under the condition of inconsistent misalignment,the accuracy of low-intensity negative face emotion recognition is significantly higher than that under inconsistent alignment;(5)Under the condition of consistent misalignment,the total gaze time for high-intensity positive/negative faces and low-intensity negative faces is significantly lower than the total gaze time of the body.These results indicate that face-body emotions are perceived as a unitary unit,and significant integration processing occurs in the combination of low-intensity face-body emotions.
