The opera The Capuletsandthe Montagues 1830 was created by Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini(1801—1835)and it was adapted from the opera,Romeo and Juliet,by W.William Shakespeare(1564—1616).But this opera is not the most famous one in Bellini’s works.With the development of Soprano performance in China in recent years,Juliet’s aria Oh! Quante volte gradually comes into the vision of most singers.Many singers deduce this work in many major singing competitions and performances.The writer believes that Bellini’s operas and its arias worth being familiar to the world,so this paper chooses the very typical soprano aria Oh! Quante volte for analysis.The opinion in this thesis is mainly based on the main character Juliet’s singing Oh! Quante volte in Bellini’s Opera The Capuletsandthe Montagues1830.The writer takes her own singingg experienc as reference to analyze artistic characteristics of this aria(including the structure characteristics,music style characteristics,accompaniment texture characteristics,personality characteristics,language characteristics)and the exploration of singing(including the characters’ emotions and the difficult parts in singing,etc.).This thesis is divided into four parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the composer Vincenzo Bellini as well as the story outline and characters of The Capuletsandthe Montagues1830.The second chapter focuses on the structural features of the score and singing characteristics.The third chapter discusses writer’s thoughts,combined with the first two chapters,from the perspective of her own singing.The fourth part is the conclusion of the thesis.
