BackgroundChildhood emotional neglect is one of the many reasons that seriously threaten children’s healthy growth.Children’s emotional neglect is universally present in real life.Emotional neglect has many adverse effects on children, such as adolescent depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, bad sexual behavior, antisocial behavior.Emotional neglect affects the formation of individual security.Childhood emotional neglect experience is significantly associated with adolescent health-related risk behaviors.Due to the limitations of objective conditions, the current research on the abuse of children by event-related potential technology is limited, especially the cross-sectional study on the cognitive processing level of children with emotional neglect is less.ObjectiveIn this study, the high-group and low-group children were treated with emotional neglect, and the color words were used as experimental materials.Through the event-related potential P300(ERP-P300)technology,the research on contradictory conflict tasks for children with emotional neglect was revealed, revealing children with emotional neglect. In the neurophysiological characteristics of information processing, find out the defects or deficiencies in the cognitive process of children’s cognitive neglect. It provides a reference for psychological correction of children with emotional neglect and supplements basic research in the field of cognitive processing.MethodsThis study used the Child Neglect Scale(CNS)and standard Raven’s reasoning tests as screening tools. The whole group sampling method was used to extract three classes in the seventh grade of a middle school in Sanmenxia City,Henan Province.First, standard Raven’s reasoning test was conducted, and a total of 147 qualified students were selected as subjects. Then according to the children’s neglected scale, the emotional neglect factor scores,in the order of high to low,the 27% of the highest score of the students as the high score group, the 27% of the lowest score of the students as the test low group. In the end,the emotional neglect of high group of 40 people(22 boys,18 girls);emotional neglect low group of 40 people(24 boys,16 girls);color words as experimental materials, according to Stroop paradigm theory, using E-Prime2.0.10 software is programmed to do two kinds of stimuli for contradictory conflict tasks and non-conflicting conflict tasks. At the same time, the Emotiv EPOC+ system was used to perform real-time EEG data acquisition, and finally the behavior data and EEG data of the subjects were obtained. The Matlab-EEGLAB data analysis system was used to process, extract and analyze the EEG data, and the average amplitude and latency data of P300 under the stimulation of contradictory conflict tasks were obtained. Finally, under the application of SPSS19.0 statistical software, the children’s neglected scale scores, standard Raven’s reasoning test scores, behavioral data and EEG data were processed. The behavior data of the two groups under the contradictory task conditions and the amplitude and latency of the P300 were analyzed.Exploring the characteristics of EEG in children who are emotionally neglected in information processing.Results1.Basic dataEmotional neglect of high group and emotional neglecting low group, significant difference in children’s neglected scale total score, safety neglect factor, communication neglect factor and somatic neglect factor(t=-15.00,-4.30,-11.50,-4.80,P<0.05)The scores and total scores of other neglect factors for emotional neglect of high-group children’s neglected scales are higher than those of low-groups.There is no difference between the total scores and factor scores of children’s neglected scales and perception discrimination, similarity comparison, comparative reasoning, series relationship, and abstract reasoning(t=-1.37,-1.59,-0.13,-0.99,-0.91,-1.49,P>0.05).2.Behavioral data resultsWhen performing non-contradictory tasks, the correct rate of emotional neglect of high groupings(97.35±1.78)% was not different from emotional neglecting low grouping(97.18±1.48)%(t=-0.47,P=0.63).In the implementation of contradictory tasks, the correct rate of emotional neglect of high grouping(93.73±3.99)% was not different from emotional neglecting low grouping(94.98±2.97)%(t=1.59,P=0.12).When performing non-contradictory tasks, there was no difference between the average response time of emotional neglect of high group(692.50±92.72)ms and the emotionally neglected low group(678.82±96.08)ms(t=-0.65,P=0.52).When performing contradictory tasks, the average response time(879.02±101.52)ms of emotional neglect of high grouping was significantly longer than that of emotionally neglected low grouping(756.93±113.91)ms(t=-0.65,P<0.01).3.P300 resultsIn the implementation of contradictory tasks, the average amplitude of the emotionally neglected high-group children P300(3.97±1.12)μV was significantly lower than the emotionally neglected low-group(8.71±1.24)μV(t=17.98,P<0.01).In the implementation of contradictory tasks, the average latency of the emotionally neglected high-group P300(361.81±39.69)ms was significantly longer than the emotionally neglected low-group(301.35±33.67)μV(t=-7.35,P<0.01).Conclusions1.Children with emotional neglect have no obvious difference in their total reasoning ability, perceptual discrimination ability, comparative reasoning ability, similar comparison ability, abstract reasoning ability and series relationship ability with normal group. It can be inferred that emotional neglect, which is one of the factors affecting the healthy growth of individuals, does not affect the intelligent development of children;2.Emotional neglect of children, when performing contradictory conflict tasks, the accuracy rate of results is similar to that of children with low age and low neglect of the same age.It is concluded that emotional neglect children have the same ability to do difficult tasks as ordinary groups;3.Emotional neglect of children, when performing contradictory conflict tasks,it takes more time than children with low emotional neglect. When the brain processes information, the cognitive resources that can be invoked by the brain are less than those of the low-neighbor group;4.Emotional neglect of children,in the implementation of contradictory conflict tasks, under the same circumstances, children who need to pay more attention than the emotionally neglected children;...
