An Exploration Of Spirituality In Language Of Material Painting

As a medium,materials appear in the expression of contemporary painting language,which reflects the initiative of contemporary artists to express new artistic language in the era of technological and artistic language changes.In the east,reform and opening up policy has promoted the reform of the economic system,and the development of economy has promoted the innovation of thoughts.85 ideological trend has led a fierce anti-traditional movement in Chinese modern art,and new artistic concepts,languages and forms have emerged in endlessly.With the introduction of western post-modern art into China,the comprehensive material painting in the new art language has brought fresh blood to the Chinese painting forms.In the contemporary era,artists attach great importance to the aesthetic value of materials,and integrate their unique aesthetic feeling,material quality and metaphorical value with the picture,showing the unique particularity of materials.At the same time,artists put their own spirituality into the expression of the picture,and use the expression of artistic language to carry thoughts and emotions,and convey their unique spiritual context through the presentation of the picture.It is particularly urgent to present the artistic language and the spirit of the artist on the picture,and to convey the vitality of thoughts and the spirit of the times to the audience.The research content of this paper is mainly carried out from three aspects: the first part describes the creation context of material painting,which can be divided into three points.The first point is the summary of comprehensive painting.The second point is the background of language expression in material painting as well as the artist’s new exploration for seeking new forms of artistic expression.The third point is about integrated materials and the writer discusses the expressiveness of material in painting,which not only shows its own unique aesthetic value,but also conveys thoughts and emotions as the carrier of the artist’s spirit.The second part tells about the expression and spirituality of several western material painting representative artists in artistic language.The transformation of western material painting from modernity to contemporaneity is represented by Tàpies,Anselm Kiefer and other artists.Through the exploration of their native artistic language and the expression of materials,they analyze the politics,history and thoughts of their time to express their reflection on social life and the metaphorical cultural spirit.The third part is about the expression and spirituality of the artistic language of several contemporary Chinese artists,as well as the writer’s spiritual self in the language of material painting.This part is divided into four aspects;the first one is about the expression of artistic spirit in the contemporary context of local sentiments represented by Ku Shulan and Duan Zhengqu.Secondly,the expressive artists of easel painting break away from the traditional painting mode.The artists represented by Xu Jiang and Shang Yang explore the spiritual expression of local culture,while the artists represented by Cai Guoqiang break through their own artistic language and move towards the international stage of contemporary art.Finally,the exploration of the writer’s own artistic practice is to convey the emotional catharsis of current life and present practical learning of spirituality.
