Mount Fuji has appeared in various forms in Chinese poetry since the publication of Kaifuso, the earliest collection of the poetry in the eighth and a half centuries. In the edo period, the lotus image of Mount Fuji poetry became immobilized, and the use of lotus to refer to Mount Fuji became the common views of the poets in edo.But how did the lotus image of Mount Fuji poetry come into being? What caused it? What was the impact? The study of the lotus image in Chinese poetry of Mount Fuji is of great significance to the study of the receptive relationship between Chinese and Japanese poetry,as well as the cultural exchange in East Asia, and at the same time provides a new perspective for the study of the overseas export and reverse import of Chinese poetry. This paper is composed of six parts: the introduction part, the poetry of Mount Fuji, the image of lotus, the reason for the establishment of the image of lotus in the poetry of Mount Fuji, the reverse input of the image of lotus in the poetry of Mount Fuji and the final chapter. In the introduction part, the purpose and significance of the research are described, and the previous research is investigated. The text consists of four parts. The first part begins with the historical records of Mount Fuji, and then analyzes the fixed image of lotus in the poetry of Mount Fuji in the edo period. The second part from the origin and cultural communication of lotus, analyzing the cultural communication path about it.Then the paper examines the inseparable relationship between the image of lotus and religion. The third part starts with the analysis of the changes of the image of lotus in different times in China, and then investigates the reasons why the image of lotus became the synonym of Mount Fuji in the edo period. The fourth part examines the Chinese people's understanding of Mount Fuji through examples and expounds the influence of the inverse input in the cultural exchanges between China and Japan. Finally, the conclusion of this paper is summarized. The above methods include literature study, comparative study and content study. The usage of using lotus refer to the mountain first appeared in the Southern and Northern Dynasties of China, and was later introduced into Korea with cultural exchanges. It was also widely spread because Li Bai's poems attracted much attention in Japan. At the same time, under the influence of “the Japanese spirit imbued with Chinese learning” the usage of using lotus refer to the Mount Fuji was fixed in the edo period. This usage then spread to China and Korea through the reverse import of culture.Starting with the image of lotus in the poetry of Mount Fuji,we can explore the track of the cultural exchange in east Asia.
