In the transmission of information,the symbols of “images and picture” play an indispensable role and meaning.The meaning of culture and communication is often expressed through visual symbols.Today,with image symbols everywhere,in the hands of inspirational user experience,scene construction,intelligent robots and other science and technology,there are endless streams of associations between future generations of human production and life,cultural exchanges and technological development.Among them,there have been a large number of film and television works on the technological revolution of the intelligent age-"Westworld","Humans","Black Mirror" and so on.The research object "Westworld" discussed in this article is a sci-fi and thriller TV series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy for HBO(Home Box Office).The story is based on two televisions of the same name written and directed by American novelist Michael Clayton.The introduction introduces the research background,research review,research methods and innovation,as well as the research ideas and significance,and explains the concepts and contents related to "scene","communication semiotics","symbol turn of rhetoric research" and so on.The second chapter systematically combs the theory of scene and symbolic rhetoric.This paper analyses the new perspective and new thinking brought by the combination of semiotics and communication from three aspects: the definition of scene,the definition of symbolic rhetoric and the rhetoric reproduction of scene symbols,and expounds the reasons and phenomena of symbolic rhetoric.Chapter three,the presentation basis of scene symbol rhetoric in "Westworld".This chapter is about the presentation of scene symbols--the analysis and discussion of the subjective and objective existence of symbolic text and symbolic objects,and the consideration ofthe connection and development between symbolic text and the text world.Chapter four,the ideographic process of scene symbol rhetoric in "Westworld".This chapter is on the basis of the plot content,especially prominent symbol rhetoric in the symbol scene,symbol meaning analysis,comparison and summary.Chapter five,the generation results of scene symbol rhetoric in "Westworld".In this chapter,through the detailed symbols of the above scenes,the symbolic rhetoric of the text is connected with the reality,and the metaphorical analysis of reflection symbols in the field of modern science and technology and other relevant fields is discussed,which is also the summary of the metaphorical meaning of all scene symbols in the play.In this paper,text analysis and case analysis are used to analyze the symbolic text of The Western World in detail.Through reading books and documents in relevant fields,the theoretical significance of communication semiotics and symbolic rhetoric can be further obtained by combining theory with practice:the collection of film and television texts to symbolic texts has transformed into symbolic texts to the refinement of symbolic rhetoric,and symbolic rhetoric sublimates the meaning of symbolic texts.Therefore,through careful text analysis,comparison,summary and case study observation and record,it can be concluded that the "Westworld" is a symbolic world of pure sensory aesthetic experience that weakens the function of moral enlightenment,a deep analysis of "technicalism" and "entertainment" and a symbolic interpretation of "domination of science and technology" and "competition of species".
