| Recent years have witnessed the increasing popularity of English fiction with the continuous development of China's economy,international status and intercultural communication.English fiction has mushroomed into China,infusing a new literary trend into the cultural life of Chinese ordinary people.Therefore,English fiction translation is of great significance.In view of this,the Chinese translation fiction,The Storied Life of A.JFikry is chosen as the research object.The translation skills of the novel are discussed in this paper.Due to the characteristics of the novel——marketable,commercial and time-limited,the novel's translation methods and techniques are very particular.The Storied Life of A.J Fikry can be said to be one of the best-selling novels in recent years,whose Chinese translation is currently one version translated by Luke(???)and Li Yuyao(???).Search results show that the papers whose study subjects are Chinese translation of The Storied Life of A.Fikry and whose themes are its translation skills and methods have not been available for a while.Therefore,this study has certain research value and research significance,which can help to add some valuable research and provide some reference for the later studies on the translation skills of the Chinese version of The Storied Life of A.J Fikry.This study mainly analyzes its translation skills from the perspective of communicative translation theory,focusing on figures dialogue translation,rhetorical translation,words and sentences translation as well as text translation.At the same time,it points out some translation deficiencies that need to be improved.The paper conducts analysis of some translation examples in The Storied Life of A.J Fikry,discusses the wonderful aspects of its translation from the perspective of the readers and analyzes the perspectives and factors that should be considered in the translation of the novel,hoping to offer some valuable reference for the future practice of related translation activities. |
