China’s current economic strength and speed of development have not only enhanced China’s international status, but also allowed China to take the initiative in international competition. Therefore, getting rid of international negative public opinion and building a good national image have become the key to China’s long-term development.International Chinese teaching as an international project focusing on Chinese knowledge teaching and Chinese cultural communication is undoubtedly an important way to build China’s national image. Therefore,we must pay attention to the great influence of international Chinese teaching. At the same time,Malaysia is an important country along the "Belt and Road"and is highly politically, economically and culturally connected with China. It also has a large Chinese community and a solid foundation of Chinese education. Therefore,Malaysia is worthy of being an international Chinese language teaching and a national image of China. An important object of the investigation. However, there are few studies on the perception of the Chinese national image by the Malaysian public, and the research objects are mostly concentrated in the Chinese ethnic group in Malaysia, but there is almost no research on the cognition of non-Chinese ethnic groups. Therefore, this article will focus on Chinese non-Chinese from the perspective of Chinese learners as a key research object, using questionnaires,in-depth interviews, classroom observations and other methods to explore the non-Chinese Chinese learners’ perception of China’s national image. This study shows that Malaysian non-Chinese Chinese learners have a better understanding of China’s overall image, but there is still room for improvement in the perception of China’s product image, cultural image.Chinese image, and Confucius Institute image. The survey’ shows that:First, the Chinese national image cognition of non-Chinese Chinese learners in Malaysia will be different due to the different family backgrounds of the cognitive subjects, which in turn will affect their attitudes towards Chinese and Chinese learning.Second.non-Chinese and Chinese in Malaysia are in China. There are differences in the cognitive status and cognitive channels of multiple dimensions of national image, and the initiative of non-Chinese to receive information is lower than that of Chinese.Third, the Chinese national image of non-Chinese student groups with different learning motivations in Chinese classroom The impact of cognition is different, which is beneficial to improve learners’ perception of China as a whole, but there is still a lack of awareness of Chinese culture. In this regard, the article puts forward specific solutions and cognitive optimization suggestions for non-Chinese Chinese teaching in Malaysia and the promotion of Chinese image.
