As a kind of "soft power",the national image plays a vital role in the country’s development and construction.Research on cognition of China’s national image is helpful for in-depth analysis of the outside world’s perception of China.The international communication of Chinese is essentially a kind of cultural exchange,which has far-reaching significance for the shaping of the image of the country.Thailand is one of the typicalcountries of "The heat of learning Chinese".It is representative to explore the appearance of China’s national image in the eyes of "others" from the cognitive perspective of Thai Chinese learners.This research is carried out on the basis of cognitive psychology,using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research to explore Thai Chinese learners’ perceptions of China’s image,cognitive differences,cognitive channels and influencing factors,and finally put forward the research results effective concrete measures to enhance China’s national image.In terms of research methods,this article mainly collects relevant data through questionnaire surveys,and then uses SPSS and Excel to perform statistical analysis on the data.It uses interviews and narrative research methods to further refine and deepen the investigation.This article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,expounding the research origin,topic selection significance,related concepts and theoretical basis of this article,systematically combing related research,explaining the research purpose,method and content of this research.The second chapter mainly introduces the basis,purpose,content of the questionnaire design,the selection of the survey object,the survey implementation process,the reliability and validity of the questionnaire,the statistical analysis of the basic information of the survey object.The third chapter mainly uses SPSS and Excel software to analyze the overall analysis and difference analysis of the research data,combined with the interview research to explore the various dimensions and cognitive channels of Thai Chinese learners about China’s national image.The fourth chapter analyzes the differences in the cognitive situation of Chinese learners at different education stages,different Chinese levels,different ethnicities,whether they have come to China.The fifth chapter selects two case studies of the narrative research of the Chinese learner exhibition under different backgrounds.The sixth chapter summarizes the cognitive results,cognitive differences,cognitive styles,and influencing factors of the Chinese national image of Thai Chinese learners and puts forward relevant thoughts and suggestions on improving China’s national image.The last chapter is the conclusion of the study.Results of the research show that there are certain differences in the perception and evaluation of Chinese national image by Thai Chinese learners.The overall order is as follows:Overall Image>Economic Image>Chinese Image>Confucius Institute Image>Product Image>Social Image>Government Image>Cultural Image>National Image>National Image in the Post-epidemic Era.In addition,the research results also show that Thai Chinese learners of different backgrounds have different perceptions of China’s national image.On the whole,middle school students,intermediate and advanced Chinese language learners,ethnic Chinese learners and Chinese learners who have come to China have high perceptions of China’s national image.The innovation of this paper is that the local Chinese learners in Thailand are selected as the research object and the research object has the characteristics of cross-grade and cross-level.Secondly,in terms of research methods,this research adopts narrative research as a major supplement to quantitative research.Starting from the growth background of learners,it deeply explores the cognitive generation path of Chinese learners’ Chinese national image.In terms of research content,this research attempts to propose a new research dimension of China’s national image on the basis of previous studies,which expands the research ideas to a certain extent.In addition,this article also explores the cognition and cognitive characteristics of Thai native Chinese learners in different backgrounds about China’s national image.The research is in-depth and comprehensive.
