As an important part of Chinese traditional culture,Chinese liquor culture has been endowed with unique charm, enduring for thousands of years. However, translation books about Chinese liquor culture are rare in the international book market. The reason is that the problems of cultural vacancies in the translation process have not been effectively solved. The original text Chinese Liquor Culture profoundly demonstrates the unique charm and influence of Chinese liquor culture through detailed description. The paper, under the guidance of Translation Memetics, proposes corresponding translation methods for the cultural vacancies caused by language, traditional customs and sentence structures.Memetics is a new theory which revels the principles or rules of cultural evolution.Professor He Ziran holds the view that there are two ways for memes to be replicated and transmitted: the same core content being inherited in various forms, and the identical pattern being followed by different contents. The former is meme-genotype and the latter meme-phenotype.In view of the language-linked culture vacancy, the author discusses the application of transliteration and literal translation in vocabulary translation. For the cultural vacancy caused by cultural customs, the author introduces the use of free translation and amplification under the guidance of the meme-phenotype transmission mode.As for the cultural vacancy at the syntactic level, the author proposes the methods of conversion and omission. The author hopes that this practice report can provide inspiration and reference for the C-E translation of Chinese liquor culture text.
