Exploration On Period And Style Of You Shou’s Calligraphy

You Shou is a native of Xiapu County in the east coast of Fujian Province.She is the proud disciple of Hu Xiaoshi,a famous calligrapher of the Republic of China,and the third generation of torch bearer of Jinshi calligraphy school founded by Li Ruiqing,a great calligrapher.She is a typical representative of the contemporary scholar calligrapher.She has great enlightening significance to the contemporary calligrapher in the period of the Republic of China,the new China and the reform and opening up.In view of You Shou’s outstanding academic achievements in archaeology,ancient philology and other fields,this paper does not study calligraphy art in isolation,but comprehensively collates and analyzes You Shou’s academic articles and calligraphy works,finds out the source of nourishment for the formation of You Shou’s calligraphy style,and then reconsiders the stages of his calligraphy.On this basis,a detailed analysis of the origin of each style of calligraphy and its internalization process of ancient calligraphy can reflect the characteristics of the changes and development of You Shou’s calligraphy style in many dimensions.In addition,through the induction and summary of her art theory,the paper reveals the relationship between the formation and evolution of her art style and her art thought,as well as the enlightenment for later scholars.
