Based on Joe Navarro’s(an expert on body language)best-selling book Louder Than Words, this report elaborates on the problems Ⅰ have faced and solved in the translation project, the quality control of the project and details of the translation process, and the feelings and experience gained from participating in the team work. The source text of this project is a best-selling book on psychology. In this book, the author not only introduced a large number of theories concerning "Nonverbals",but also analyzed the application of "Nonverbals" in interpersonal communication in the workplace by citing a large number of real examples based on his actual life and the work experience as a former FBI agent. This report involves three chapters’ translation work:Chapter 3(How the Body Talks),Chapter 8(Emotional Nonverbals),and Chapter 9(What about Deception?).With novel content, concise and clear language, and relatively colloquial style, the source text of this report is closely related to our daily life.Following the Skopos theory in the translation process,Ⅰstnved to make the connection among words, sentences and text and apply the theory to guide me to choose the specific translation methods and tactics. At the same time, the original book is a best seller in psychology and the original author has a special identity(a former FBI agent)and life experience,so his colloquial and conversationalized writing style renders readers a feeling of actually being in each situation depicted by the author. There are also many descriptions about moods and scenes in this book.Taking into account all these special features,I particularly illustrate my translation practice and feelings and experiences on these details in this report. This project is fully supervised by my tutor and completed by 4 team members irt the collaborating translation project.Ⅰ successfully completed the translation task through self-proofreading,mutual proofreading, reviewings by my tutor and editors of the publisher, from which a lot of conducive experience has been accumulated to improve the quality of translation and translators. This report systematically introduces the translation process, analyzes and interprets the cases, and elucidates the reflection and summary of my experience in team cooperation, with a view to providing referenees for future translation practices.
