The Correction And Supplement Of Zhapu

The ten-volume Zhapu,composed by Guifu,researched in the confocian classics,history,philosophy and literature,involved in many fields,such as the ancient words and characters,geography and biology,ancient bronzes and stone tablets,dialects and vulgarisms and so on.Although there are few volumes,it can be said that Zhapu covers a lot of ground,but inevitably,mistaken views still exist.Selecting these mistaken entries as research subject,firstly this article verifies Guifu’s mistaken words or views,also tries to make a correction simultaneously.On this basis,this article sifts and selects three entries that worth further study to do the intensive research and supplement,trying to tease out the inner relation between the characters and come up with new viewpoints.The notes of collation in the appendix are the correction and revision of the current edition collated by Zhao Zhihai,published by Zhonghua Press.In addition,to Guifu’s quotation,the notes of collation correct the mistaken words,supplement the missing words and delect the redundant words as well,for researchers’ reference.
