Tibet is a place full of magic. It has a unique plateau natural features, living customs and religious beliefs, and has always been the focus of attention of the eastern society and the western world.Since the peaceful liberation of Tibet, especially since the Democratic reform, the Tibetan people, under the correct leadership of the Communist Party of China, have undergone tremendous changes in Tibetan society. But for a long time, under the bewilderment of the Western anti-China forces and the separatist forces of the Dalai Lama, and under the projection of imagination and prejudice,Tibet has presented a mysterious, holy and backward complex connotation in the western perspective.Western stereotypes of Tibet are hard to eliminate.Compared with the media such as news and movies, documentaries can tell Tibetan stories well in authentic, objective and visual audio-visual language, take the initiative to grasp the right to speak, and show the world a real, beautiful, harmonious and modern developed Tibet.Taking "One Year in Tibet" filmed by overseas media and "Time in Tibet" filmed by CCTV as examples, this paper makes an analysis of the two Tibetan documentaries from the perspective of documentary narration. In terms of narrative language, the picture of "One Year in Tibet" is mainly in the middle of the scenery. The camera movement is equal and restrained. It objectively and thoroughly shows the political, economic and cultural life of the Tibetan people and the unique religious beliefs and spiritual world of the Tibetan nation."Tibetan Time" uses a variety of scenery combinations, the lens changes richly and stereoscopically, with emotional explanations and picture changes, and comprehensively and stereoscopically shows the happy and beautiful new life in Tibet since the Democratic reform, especially since the reform and opening up 40 years ago.In terms of narrative strategy,Tibet One Year uses the narrative perspective of bystanders, and the linear narrative structure reflects the ups and downs of events. The group image narrative technique makes the characters vivid.Tibetan Time explores the connotations behind the events from participant’s point of view and actively interviews, annotates the thematic connotations from different aspects in the thematic plate narrative structure, and combines the grand social prospect with personal life by dialectical narrative techniques, demonstrating the new development and changes of Tibetan society. In terms of narrative culture,Tibetan Year takes a humanistic view of Tibetans’ individual living conditions in the style of objective documentary.Tibetan Time, through the details of the activation of Tibetan people’s livelihood, links up the overall development prospect of Tibetan society and demonstrates the open and inclusive mentality of Tibetan society in the process of modernization. One Year in Tibet and Time in Tibet tell the story of Tibet vividly and intuitively to the world. Both of them show the process of social development and change in Tibet dynamically and have important narrative value. After a comprehensive analysis of the narrative art of the two documentaries and combining Xi Jinping’s theoretical connotation of telling Chinese stories, the Enlightenment of telling Tibetan stories well in Tibetan documentaries is obtained:Enriching the narrative language and telling three-dimensional Tibetan stories;grasping the details of life and telling Tibetan development stories;shaping vivid characters and telling vivid Tibetan stories;objective narrative style and telling true Tibetan stories. In this way,we can truly implement the establishment of the discourse power system proposed by General Secretary Hao Xi Jinping, break the "silent" or "aphasia" state of external communication, and transform Tibet’s development advantages and comprehensive strength into discourse advantages.
