A Study Of Poems Written On A Mission To Ryukyu Kingdom In Jiaqing Five Years

In Jiaqing five years of Qing Dynasty,in order to confer titles of nobility on Shangwen,Zhao Wenkai and Li Dingyuan were sent to Ryukyu.They created hundreds of thematic poems in specific time and space.The content and artistic characteristics of these poems are unique,which deserves further study.This paper is divided into three chapters to study the poems written on the diplomatic mission to Ryukyu kingdom in jiaqing five years.ChapterⅠexplores the special background of poetry creation.In five years of Jiaqing,Emperor Qianlong died,Emperor Jiaqing took over the reins of government.The mission to Ryukyu not only followed the etiquette system of the tribute diplomacy of the Qing Dynasty,but also embodied Jiaqing’s political atmosphere.Ambassadors was honest and impartial,overcome many difficulties in the land and sea journey,arrived in Ryukyu,understood the exotic customs,has a strong creative desire,and accumulated a large number of creative materials.Chapter II analyzes the content and theme of the poems written on the diplomatic mission to Ryukyu.The poems can be divided into four categories: land and sea journey poems,farewell and exchange poems,narrative and lyric poems and Ryukyu scenery poems.kinds of poems intuitively show the city and traffic from the perspective of envoys;the farewell and exchange among envoys,colleagues,Ryukyu scholars;the tour of Ryukyu;the matters of coronation;the observation of Ryukyu residents’ customs.Chapter Ⅲ demonstrates following artistic characteristics: poetry genre,poetic language,artistic styles.Poetry genre is complete,including fourcharacter,five-character,seven-character and miscellaneous-character classical poetry;five-character,seven-character,quatrains and long poems in regulated verse,Yuefu poems,song lines poems and Bamboo Branch Gamut.Poetry creators are distinct.There are many quantifiers,negative words,interrogative words,natural words,and coordinate words in the poems.The artistic style is bold,elegant,vast and magnificent.The momentum is magnificent,permeating with handsome and elegant,and the folk customs of Ryukyu are fresh and strange.The poems written on the diplomatic mission to Ryukyu Kingdom in jiaqing five years form a distinct characteristic,which opens a new page for recording incidents on the way to to Ryukyu.it not only injects new aesthetic experience into the poems of QianJia Period,but also is of great significance to the development of the poetry of Qing Dynasty and the exchange of poems between China and Ryukyu.
