This report is based on the last four chapters of the book Why Buddhism Is True.The time span for translation was from August 2018 to November 2018.This report mainly discusses the E-C translation of Buddhist terms,common words and parallelism in Buddhism texts.The author lists some problems arising from this translation task and gives a detailed analysis of the causes.After that,the author also proposes some strategies for the problem of translation,mentioned above,which can also better guide the practice of E-C translation,in hope of making a contribution for Chinese to the understanding of Buddhism from a new perspective in the future.This report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which explains the reasons for the project,the project significance and the project content.The second chapter is the task process,which covers the detailed accounts of the three stages of pre-translation preparation,translation process and proofreading after translation.The third chapter discusses the problems appeared in the process of E-C translation including the E-C translation of Buddhist terms,common words on the lexicon level and the E-C translation of antithesis,symploce and anaphora on the rhetoric level.The fourth chapter offers some corresponding solutions to the problems mentioned in Chapter Three,including consulting on-line dictionaries,consulting parallel texts,phrase transformation and deletion.Chapter Five is a summary of this report,consisting of experiences and lessons learnt from the translation practice.
