In recent years,the yearbook industry in China has made considerable progress,especially in the publication of local yearbooks.This paper is a project report on C-E translation of Chapter Five Public Administration of Jiangsu Province Yearbook 2017,which involves finance,tax,auditing,price and so on.It aims to provide basic information for people at home and abroad to have a better understanding of Jiangsu.The source text is an informative text.Its translation will help the target readers understand the development of public administration in Jiangsu Province directly,quickly and systematically,which plays an important role in expanding Jiangsu’s overseas influence.Under the guidance of Text Typology and Skopos Theory,this report mainly summarizes issues and problems encountered in the translation process at the lexical and syntactic levels on the basis of translation examples and then analyzes the causes.In addition,this report puts forward accordingly feasible translation strategies,including literal translation,literal translation with explanation and free translation at the lexical level,and amplification,voice transformation,division as well as reorganizing at syntactic level.The author pays great attention to the accuracy of translation and the logic of this report,so as to offer reference value for the translation of relevant text in the future.
