The social adaptation and integration of migrant children has always been the focus of researchers. As an important learning and living environment for migrant children, school adaptation is an important embodiment of migrant children’s educational integration in cities. In addition, compared with the vertical interpersonal relationship with adults, the horizontal interpersonal relationship with peers has a broader and deeper impact on children. Therefore, this study focuses on the influence of peer attachment on the school adaptation of migrant children, and verifies the mechanism from the perspective of self-esteem and loneliness. In addition, this study investigates the role of teacher-student relationship in this process.A total of 578 students in grade 3,4 and 5 of two public primary schools in suzhou were selected as subjects, among which 418 were migrant children and 160 were urban children. The tools included the peer attachment subscale of Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment(IPPA);School attitude questionnaire;Self-esteem scale(SES);Children’s Loneliness Scale(CLS);The teacher-student relationship subscale of My Class Questionnaire. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)peer attachment can significantly positively predict the school adaptation of migrant children. That is,the improvement of peer attachment quality will promote the school adaptation of migrant children, and the reduction of peer attachment quality will hinder the school adaptation of migrant children.(2)self-esteem plays an incomplete mediating role in peer attachment and school adaptation of migrant children. In other words, high quality peer attachment can improve the self-esteem of migrant children and thus improve their school adaptation level.(3)loneliness plays an incomplete mediating role in peer attachment and school adaptation of migrant children. In other words,high-quality peer attachment can reduce the loneliness of migrant children and improve their school adaptation level.(4)teacher-student relationship did not significantly adjust the relationship between self-esteem and school adaptation of migrant children.(5)the teacher-student relationship did not significantly adjust the relationship between loneliness and school adaptation of migrant children.(6)teacher-student relationship significantly regulates the relationship between peer attachment and school adaptation of migrant children. That is,in the context of low teacher-student relationship intensity, peer attachment has little predictive effect on school adaptation of migrant children. In the context of high teacher-student relationship, peer attachment plays an important role in predicting the school adaptation of migrant children.
