Language testing is a mirror,which can reflect the shortcomings in language teaching and learning.Therefore,language testing is an indispensable process.In recent years,with the development of China and the implementation of "the Belt and Road",the international status of Chinese has been continuously increasing,attracting a large number of chinese learners every year,as a result,the new HSK examination is becoming more and more popular.After the reform,great changes have taken place in the new HSK.However,compared with other language tests,the new HSK still has dificiencies in various aspects.DELE has a history of more than 20 years and has been widely recognized internationally.Since DELE has many similarities with the new HSK,this paper intends to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these two language tests,promoting the new HSK to make more progress and trying to contribute to the development of teaching Chinese as a second language.The first chapter"Introduction" mainly elaborates the purpose,significance,basis and method of this study,and reviews the current research status of language testing.The second chapter focuses on the introduction and comparison of the new HSK and DELE.The general introduction includes three aspects:examination registration,examination framework and examination results.The comparison involves three aspects:examination outline,examination content and function of language certificate.Chapter three to chapter five analyzes and compares some differences between the new HSK and DELE in listening,reading and writing tests.Then,according to the language testing theory and comparison results,this paper summarizes the enlightments of DELE and makes further discussion on the improvement of the new HSK.It also tries to provide feasible suggestions for improving the new HSK and developing the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The last Chapter "Conclusion" summarizes the insufficiencies of this study,and puts forward prospects for the future of the new HSK.
