Culture On Display And Urban Spirit Shaping

From the communication to understand the city,the physical space enters the researcher's field of vision,and the urban space itself can be the medium.At present,as a feature of the contemporary environment,more and more Spaces are transformed into visible and visitable "talking environments”.Biennale is regarded as a publicity window to display national or urban culture,and more and more cities hope to attract the public with the help of biennale to develop urban economy and strengthen urban symbol.Taking the 4th suzhoujinji lake biennale(suzhou biennale)as the object of study,this paper explores how the biennale displays urban culture and shapes the city spirit by analyzing its curatorial principles,cultural scenes and communication space.The research shows that sushuang has the spirit of pursuing internationalization,integrating art into the community and relying on local cultural resources.At the same time,a cultural scene highlighting mainstream value orientation and individuality is constructed.In turn,it can stimulate the diversified spatial communication among people in the city.But at the same time,sushuang's limitations are also apparent.Su shuang pursues internationalization in curation,but lacks the dialogue with the international trend.Relying too much on local culture leads to too simple value orientation,which fails to better promote the achievement of communicable cities.The 4th suzhoushuang exhibition showcased the integration of tradition and modernity,local and international urban culture,as well as the open and inclusive,hybrid and harmonious,modern and fashionable urban spirit of suzhou.At the same time,the growing sushuang shows the contradiction between catching up with the trend and being unable to get rid of the conservative feeling under the mainstream ideology,which is also the other side of the rapid development of suzhou as a new city.
