Horizon reports in 2005-2007 and 2011-2014 listed gamification learning or educational games as learning technologies that will be widely used in the next 2-3 years.Digital educational games begin to enter the classroom,breaking the limitations of traditional classroom teaching.The application of digital educational games in primary school English teaching provides a new way of thinking for the reform of primary school English curriculum.Through a large number of literature studies,this paper analyses the problems existing in the current primary school English teaching from three aspects: vocabulary teaching,phonetics teaching and listening teaching.This paper expounds the value of "digital educational games" in primary school English teaching from three angles;And this paper combs the existing application modes of digital educational games in primary school English teaching from four aspects: primary school English vocabulary teaching,phonetics teaching,listening teaching and grammar teaching.This paper analyses the advantages of using digital educational games to optimize primary school English teaching from the concept and characteristics of digital educational games.According to the content and subject characteristics of English curriculum in primary schools,combined with the functional characteristics of the existing digital educational games in primary schools,and referring to the classification of CAI courseware,the digital educational games in English can be divided into operational practice type,data tool type,consultation and dialogue type,test and evaluation type and role-playing type.Three types of games are selected from them,and construct three types of digital educational games in English teaching application mode,application process,and corresponding case design.In this study,four classes in the fifth grade of a primary school in Zhejiang Province were selected as experimental subjects,and one class was designed as the control group,the other three classes as the experimental group.The control group adopted traditional teaching mode and teaching method to carry out routine English teaching,while the experimental group adopted the teaching mode of combining routine teaching with digital educational games,emphasizing the application mode of digital educational games in primary school English teaching.Through the evaluation scale,individual test,questionnaire survey and interviews,the relevant data were collected and the teaching effect was analyzed to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the digital educational game application model in primary school English teaching.Finally,the author makes a reflection and summary and draws a final conclusion.
